Clicking on the tabs will get you to various applications.

Each County Jail has their own Volunteer Application and Volunteer (Security) Training process.  While NEW LIFE CORRECTIONS has a presence in these County Jails, we do not control their approval processes.  Each applicant must submit their application to the appropriate County Jail.

The Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) is a bit different.  The application obtained by clicking on the tab is their REGULAR VOLUNTEER application.  However, they do not like to process REGULAR VOLUNTEER applications until a person has "spent some time" as a LIMITED VOLUNTEER.  After a person has entered IDOC facility a few times as a LIMITED VOLUNTEER, then they are more open to processing a REGULAR VOLUNTEER application.

A LIMITED VOLUNTEER is limited to entering a single IDOC facility, and limited to entering but once every three months.  He/she gains access by obtaining a Gate Pass to a specific facility for a specific purpose on a specific day.   We can do this for you, for example, to participate in our Stateville Saturday Literature Distribution or our 2-Day DADS SEMINARS or FREEDOM FROM FEAR SEMINARS.  We will need your name, address, SSN & DOB, which we will then submit to IDOC for your clearance.  This process usually takes some weeks, and can stretch out into months.

If you have questions or need help with an application process, please don't hesitate to contact Chaplain Tom at tbeatty@waysidecross.org.
